On October 31, the Research Lab Building on GTIIT North Campus was roofed. So far, all main buildings in this construction project have had the roofs sealed, laying a solid foundation for achieving the goal of completion of the North Campus buildings by mid-2017. Meanwhile, construction of the west section of College North Road in GTIIT South Campus have started on the same day.

GTIIT North Campus covers an area of about 102.85 mu, including 101,700 m² floor area and a total project investment cost of RMB 738 million. The construction started in October 2015, all parties involved (construction, design, supervision, etc.) had to overcome difficulties such as construction complex geological conditions and meet high standards of special engineering technology. These challenges are being addressed successfully.

Currently the main structures of the following buildings have been completed -- the Research Building, Education Building, Teaching Laboratories, canteen, student dorms, staff dorms, and supporting facilities. The North Campus is scheduled to be delivered for use in the mid. of next year.
