The 4th GTIIT board meeting was held on December 8th, where Pro. Perez Lavie, Chairman of the board and Chancellor of the Technion, delivered an opening speech and expressed his congratulations on GTIIT's formal establishment.

At the meeting, reports were made on the progress of GTIIT formal establishment, faculty recruitment, and campus construction, as well as the amendment to the joint venture agreement. Discussions were also carried out on the annual budget and the budget for the first five years, the 2017 student recruitment plan, foreign faculty's children education, and relevant medical issues.

Three undergraduate programs are to be provided in 2017: Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology and Food Engineering, Materials Engineering. It is scheduled to recruit 300 students in total, with 100 for each program. Student recruitment regulations and procedures will be confirmed after approval.

GTIIT board members attended the meeting, together with the following leaders and guests: Liu Xiaotao, Deputy Secretary and Mayor of Shantou, Dr. Luo Huifang & Dr. Feng Zhaolin from Li Ka-Shing Foundation, Dr. Moshe Marom, Vice President & Director General of GTIIT, and Mr. Feng Xinglei, Vice President of Shantou University.
