笔辞蝉迟罢颈尘别:4/7/2017

On March 29, Dr. Marom, Pro Vice Chancellor & Director General of GTIIT, was invited by Cheung Kong School of Art & Design, Shantou University, to attend the 52nd Dialogue on Culture, together with Dean Wang Shouzhi. During the two-hour dialogue, these two scholars had profound discussion on Jewish history.
Dr. Marom made fluent Mandarin opening remarks in the beginning. It is reported that presently there are 17.4 million Jews around the world, 6.4 million of whom are living in Israel and most of the rest distribute in some developed countries such as the U.S. and France.
Then Dr. Marom introduced the origin of the Jewish people as well as some significant historic events like Jerusalem being occupied by the Romans and the destroy of the 2nd Temple, the most holly place for Jews, at AD 70 together with the exile of Jews from Israel by the Romans. Jewish history is indeed a history of exile. After around two-thousand-year displacement, the Jewish people finally established their own country on May 4th, 1948. In the Dialogue, Dean Wang Shouzhi also analyzed the relations among different religions in the world.
As a witness of GTIIT's establishment, Dr. Marom emphatically made an introduction on the background and status quo of this new engineering and science university, including the philosophy of schooling and campus design, which will provide the faculty and students with an opportunity to have a deep insight of GTIIT with the spirit of Technion Israel Institute of Technology.?
