From May 9th to 11th, Professor Yachin Ivry from Technion-Israel Institute of Technology gave lectures of?Controlling the Nanoscale Electron Behaviorin Smart Materials?to more than 600 senior two students from Shantou LimPor-yen Middle School and over 800 senior one students at Foshan No.1 Middle School. Professor Yachin Ivry introduced his researches on electronics behaviorat nanoscale of smart materials and some?derivative?technologies. He also shared his stories with the audience and gave some suggestions to students on how to cultivate their techniques and capabilities in scientific researches.

After the lectures, students came to Professor Yachin Ivry and asked quite a lot of professional questions. Some students asked for professor’s signature as motivation for them to study harder.
Professor Yachin Ivry said, the questions asked by the students?are brilliant and he hoped that these students could join his research team one day.

Yachin Ivry is the assistant professor of Department of Materials Science and Engineering of Technion-Israel Institute of Technology. He Received his BSc of Physics and chemistry in Hebrew University of Jerusalem. And he got his MSc of Physics in Weizmann Institute of Science and his PhD in Nanoscience Centre (Trinity Hall), University of Cambridge, UK. He continued his postdoctoral training in Quantum Nanostructures and Nanofabrication group, MIT.
?
Professor?Yachin Ivry is devoted in superconductors and ferroelectrics--at the nanoscale, where the "collectiveness" emerges. The technology would be applied in the next generation of quantum data storage, computer science and sensory technology.
