In the afternoon of July 10^th, Guangdong Technion - Israel Institute of Technology held the Fifth Session of the 1st Board of Directors Meeting. Members of the board and honorable guests attending meeting listened to the reports of financial budget, enrollment, recruitment of faculty and staff, campus construction, etc. They fully appreciated the progress made of student admissions and proposed a lot of constructive ideas for the proceeding work and GTIIT's ?future development.

The attending board members include Peretz Lavie, the Technion President; Li Jiange, GTIIT Chancellor; Paul Feigin, Former Vice-President for Strategic Projects of Technion; Matanyahu Englman, Executive Vice President and Director General of Technion; Oded Shmueli, Professor of Computer Science of Technion; Gu Peihua, Executive President of Shantou University; Wang Yun, Former Executive Vice-Director and Standing Committee of Shantou City's People's Congress. Peretz Lavie, the President of GTIIT Board of Directors and Technion President was the host of the meeting.

The honorable guests, including Lin Yimin, the vice mayor of Shantou; Lin Danming, Vice - President of Shantou University, Dr. Luo Huifang and Dr. Feng Zhaolin from Li Ka-Shing Foundation; Moshe Marom, GTIIT Pro-Vice Chancellor and Director General; Feng Xinglei, Pro-Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and officials from Shantou Government, joined the meeting.

The board nominated high-ranking staff and discussed about the GTIIT's Inauguration Ceremony at the end of December this year.
