笔辞蝉迟罢颈尘别：9/6/2017
Sept.5th - September 10th is the Teachers’ Day in China. On behalf of Shantou Municipal Committee, Shantou Government and Shantou citizens, Chen Liangxian, Secretary of the CPC Shantou Municipal Committee, visited Shantou University(STU) and Guangdong Technion-Institute of Technology(GTIIT) to express the warm regards to faculty and staff from STU and GTIIT.
Led by Chen Liangxian, the visiting group went to GTIIT North Campus, held a seminar in a multi-function hall in the gym of STU and had a close interaction with faculty and staff from STU and GTIIT.

Jiang Hong, CPC Party Secretary and President of STU, was the host of the seminar. Feng Xinglei, Vice President of STU and Pro-Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs of GTIIT, and Jiang Hong introduced the recent progress of GTIIT and STU respectively. Eliezer Shalev, Pro-Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs of GTIIT, Moshe Marom, Pro-Vice Chancellor and Director General of GTIIT, and Paul Feigin, Technion Liasion Officer of GTIIT, expressed their gratitude towards Guangdong Provincial Government, Shantou Municipal Government and Shantou University.

During the seminar, Chen Liangxian fully recognized the contributions made by STU and GTIIT and briefly introduced the overall situation of Shantou’s economic and social development. He pointed out that GTIIT is a model of establishing a high-level Sino-foreign university and international education, and also a landmark of cooperation of Israel and China under the global context. Chen believed that GTIIT would have a promising future with the considerable efforts of Chancellor Li Jiange and other GTIIT faculty and staff.
Chen Liangxian said that Shantou is proud of STU and GTIIT. The growth and flourishing of STU and GTIIT cannot be separated from the strong support of the central government, Guangdong Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government as well as the vision and patriotism of Mr. Li Ka-Shing. Shantou Municipal Party Committee and Shantou Government will always support the development of STU and GTIIT.
Directors from Shantou government, including Qiu Yihui, Lin Yimin, senior management team from Shantou University, including Luo Nianchao, Wen Xiaobo, Lin Danming and Wulan Hasi, attended the seminar.
