One of the most important events held during the ¡°Series Activities of Sino-Israel Education and Technology Cooperation¡± was the basketball match between basketball team from Peking University, the winner of 2017 Chinese University Basketball Association (CUBA), and the basketball team consisting of players from STU basketball team and Technion basketball team. The match was taken place in the STU Sports Park.

Exuberant Israeli dancing, chorus performed by STU Singing Research Institute and the impressive performance of cheering squads stirred up the ambience of the basketball court. Welcomed by rousing cheers and applauses, the basketball match began.

The scores went neck-to-neck and the cheer was raised from time-to-time. The atmosphere was extraordinarily lively. The brilliant shoots of skilled basketball players pushed the match to its apex.

In the first section, Technion-STU team narrowly won over Peking team by leading 4 scores. While from the second section, Peking team regained its momentum till the end of the match. Finally, Technion-STU team lost the match by 62:87.

It was a moral victory because the players from Technion and STU only co-trained for three days, yet surprisingly gaining tactical coordination. Players from the three universities thought that friendship comes first, no matter during training or competition. The underlying meaning of basketball match is more about developing friendship among students from different universities and countries.
