GTIIT held a panel discussion to study and implement President Xi Jinping's speech when he talked with Guangdong Delegation at the first annual session of the 13^th National People's Congress. All the Chinese faculty and staff attended the discusssion yesterday.?Pro-vice Chancellor Lin Danming?hosted the meeting.

After Chen Shaogang, ?Assistant to Pro-vice Chancellor, passed President Xi Jinping's message on to the attendees, some attendees shared their opinions which were closely related to their works and reality.?

Development, talents and innovation are the three keywords in the panel discussion.?Attendees believe that President Xi's speech is instructively meaningful to the development of GTIIT. As President Xi stressed, development is the top priority, talents are the top resources and innovation is the greatest engine. Being the first Sino-foreign polytechnic university, GTIIT needs to fasten the paces of introducing the first-tier international talents. Meanwhile, GTIIT should spare no efforts in retaining, cultivating and serving talents, so that we could bring up more high-quality engineers and scientists who are global-minded and patriotic.

Lin Danming concluded that the development of GTIIT should be bound up with Xi's speech. GTIIT is the representative project of Sino-Israeli cooperation and will inherit and develop the innovation genes from Technion and STU. Embedded in the fertile land in Guangdong, GTIIT shoulder the great responsibility of serving the country and fueling Guangdong's economic development. To implement Xi's guidance, GTIIT would quicken the paces of development, expand science and technology capacity and cultivate students with good social and life values. Cross-cultural exchanges will be strengthened to foster a cooperative and learning atmosphere as a distinguishing feature.?
